Han Dan Yue

It's that time of year again. Han Dan Yue! Where people dress up as gods and have people throw firecrackers at them. Pretty crazy stuff happens around here. One of my co-workers said he saw a guy with a 10 foot pole through his mouth. I saw a guy last year hitting himself with a metal, spiked, medicine ball. From start to finish (3-4 days) you can hear firework 24/7. That red paper you see in some of the pictures is the paper from the fireworks. Every street is in Taitung is covered in this red paper by the end.


Here is one of the dudes that gets fire crackers thrown at him. They walk up and down the streets and people come out of their houses and buinesses to throw fireworks at them.


Look at all the red paper left in street. You can tell just how many fireworks went of here.

I don't know what there were all about but it was kindof cool to turn the corner and come face to face with these giants.

Those boxes are all fireworks too that shot bottle rockets into the sky. The shells where hitting me while I was taking the video and pictures.
