The journey

What a crazy trip. Left Glendora for LAX at 9pm. Didn't board the plane until 1:30am. Flight was good but didn't sleep much. Watched the Backup Plan. 13 hours and some odd mintes later I landed in Taipei. Collected my 6 bags and headed to the bus station in the airport. The bus drivers tells I have to put the surfboard "on the bus". I thought he was saying on top of the bus and I was ready to put up a fight but soon found out he meant in the bus. Chinese is so tricky sometimes. Meet a nice America lady on the bus who works for my old company HESS in Taipei. Arrive at the bus station instead of the train station. (It's new and across the street and down the way from the train station.) I make a train with my 6 bags including my surfboard and tug for all I am worth. I was beat by the time arrived at the ticket counter. 2 tiny high school age girls voleenteer to help get to the platform which I gladly accepted. Waited another hour and then made a mad dash back and forth getting stuff while people push their way on the train. I saton the train for 4.5 hours staring at the beautiful lush mountains and coast. Beautiful beyond words. Finally I arrive at the Taitung train station where two guys offered carry my luggage for me. (I think they felt cool carrying the surfboard.) Was picked up by the director of my school and director of the foreign teacher program and made the last leg of the journey to my apartment. 27 hours after I left Glendora I arrived safe and sound with all my luggage over 150 lbs.) in Taitung. Praise God.
