At Sunrise

This is something I wrote several years ago while living in Kaohshiung, but I have been reminded of it lately. I have seen many sunrises lately after little to no sleep. It's a constant reminder of God's faithfulness.

At Sunrise
> Have you ever waited for the sun to rise after a night of no sleep?
> A night where mind and body have been at war. A night where the
> darkness begins to consume you and your only salvation is the light of
> a new day.
>
> Oh how long these nights seem. How torturous they can be.
> Lonliness so deep that you wonder if love will ever find a home in you
> again. The world sleeps and noone can see your pain.
>
> So you wait. You wait for the universe to do it's job. You are
> desperate and the more you will the sun to rise the more it seems to
> take it's time.
>
> Finally you think that it might be getting lighter or maybe it's
> just your imagination playing games with you. The hues of the sky
> begin to change and you regain hope that a new day is almost here. You
> lose patience and cry out for it to go faster but of course the sun does
> as it pleases.
>
> Then after what felt like eternity, the long anticipated moment
> comes when all is light again and the world is awake to share your
> pain.
>
> Oh how familiar the sun rise is to the human soul. Sometimes it is
> so dark inside your soul that nothing seems to touch you. You feel
> cold and alone. You cry out for God's light to shine in you again but
> God too has his own timing, and you must be patient.
>
> After days, months even years from some far away corner light begin
> to creep in and consume your darkness. Once again your soul radiates
> with God's love.
>
> So don't lose faith because the sun will always rise and God is
> always faithful.
