I am so over that motorcycle!

Wednesday in Taiwan was 10/10 which is a holiday here. So with a whole day to play my friends Matt and Charles decided to take the back road through the mountains to Guanshan. 14k of this road is gravel and mud, but I agreed none the less. It was fun to start with as all these trips are. We saw a guy sitting next to a old,old wooden house eating corn (remember we are miles away from anything and any real road and there was no vehicle at that house), a real mountain man to be sure. My bike was fishtailing every which way. Matt was up in front and Charles behind me. I come around a bend to find Matt sprawled out on the ground in the mud. He is laughing to hard to even pick up his bike. It was a funny sight. I thought to myself I really hope that doesn't happen to me. Bam! My front wheel slides on the mud and down I go. My leg presses up against the hot exhaust and burns me. I really just wanted to be off this road, but we are so off the beaten track that there is no way to get out but to keep going. I was never so happy to see a paved road again. Matt mentions that he wants to play his trumpet in a small gazeboo. Are you kidding me? All I wanted to clean the inch of mud off that burn. So to make a long story short we find a road to a small villege where a lady and a "pharmacy" helped me clean it as a best that could. I went to the hospital and got a tetnis shot and proper bandages. What a day!
