Thanksgiving dinner with chopsticks

So my friends decieded to celebrate Thanksgiving for us on Saturday. I fixed mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing and brownies. You know typical Thanksgiving food. Faith made wild rice and fruit with a blueberry cream cheese dip. We mentioned that we would like a turkey or chicken if possible, which they provided (very Taiwanese style) with the neck and legs still attached. Our Taiwanese friends brought tofu, whole baked fish, salmon, cabbage, greens, something very simular to a roost, dumplings, all in all very Taiwanese food. So we celebrated Thanksgiving Taiwan style.
It was fun teaching them how to eat mashed potatoes (by putting butter and gravy on top), and having them guess what the stuffing was made out of, and telling them traditionally where to put it to cook it. They loved the mashed potatoes and were practically licking the bowl clean. The brownies were also a big hit. I was trying to explain that they weren't really cake and not really cookies; they were brownies. It took some convincing.
We ate dinner with chopsticks and little pink plastic bowls, which meant I ate my dumplings and mashed potatoes and fish all it the same bite. It was a an experience all right. Both Faith and I said it was a first for us to eat Thanksgiving dinner with chopstick, but ... I liked it.
I think I am going to cook again on Wednesday (we all have the evening free) and invite some people over. I really like cooking now that the weather has gotten colder and I love the smell of something cooking. It is so homey and gives me a warm feeling inside.
I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving holiday. Love ya.
